Artemis Grill and Bar is a lovely rooftop restaurant and bar in Singapore’s CBD which has an awesome atmosphere.
The Ambience, Service and Staff
Artemis Grill and Skybar is on the 40th floor of the Capitagreen Tower. We were celebrating on the day, and had made our reservations via their website. The restaurant operates Monday through Saturday, and remains closed on Sundays. Being in the centre of the Singapore CBD, parking here during the week can be very expensive. I recommend taking public transport when visiting here.
We were greeted by the staff who swiftly had us seated at a table by the windows as we’d requested. Menus followed immediately and they brought some brioche bread, olive oil and dukkah out.
Artemis Grill has a chic, modern interior and a well stocked bar and wine rack. The restaurant also has an outdoor rooftop bar, and a rooftop garden. You have a choice of seats at tables, or on couches for a more relaxed and casual feel. The views are nice, but not entirely unobstructed. The building has two layers of glass, and while you may be seated next to a window, you’re going to be behind a second layer of glass.
During our visit on a weekday, the restaurant was operating at capacity and there were several business lunches in progress.
The staff were friendly and professional.
The Food
Artemis Grill offers a set lunch, and while their 2-course lunch is set to a price, several items require a top-up. We ordered the Burrata and the Roasted Eggplant for our starters, and the Moroccan Lamb – one portion done medium and the other well done – as our main.
The starters came out in about 10 minutes. Both the burrata and the egg plant were served with a pesto base. Portions were generous and were very good. The eggplant was particularly so, covered in puffed rice and feta cheese.
The main course followed about 10 minutes after we’d finished our mains. Once again, the portions were generous. We found that the portion that came out well done appeared to be leaner, though this may have been due to the fat having rendered. The meat was cooked to perfection and served on cauliflower couscous and topped with pomegranate that lent a slight sweetness.
We didn’t have room for dessert, but the restaurant provided us with a complimentary birthday dessert – a chocolate mousse ice-cream with a mango purée that wasn’t too sweet nor too large, and perfect to share between 2 well fed adults for a sweet end to our meal.
The Price Point
Our meal for two came up to just over $150 and is justified by the quality and the amount of food served. It is a little more expensive than a few other venues of similar calibre that we have visited in the same general area.
The Final Verdict
Artemis Grill is an awesome location for business lunches where you’re seeking to impress clients. It’s also great for celebrating special occasions and sharing a romantic meal. Consider coming up here if you’re meeting up with friends for drinks at the end of a long day.
