Hans Im Glück has several outlets around Singapore and has taken me on my quest to find Singapore’s best burger! I generally frequent the branch at Boat Quay, and have also visited the ones at Orchard Road and Raffles Place.
Ambience, Service and the Staff
Hans I’m Glück is conveniently located in Boat Quay and offers both indoor and alfresco dining. Following Covid-19, the restaurant downsized to just the ground floor.
It’s offers the relaxed ambience of modern industrial design against an indoor forest and lots of wooden textures.
I generally tend to book ahead on Chope and have walked in early in the week.
The staff are courteous and professional and have always seated us very quickly.
As their names says, Hans Im Glück are a German burger grill. They do burgers, and they do them well. They offer an assortment of vegetarian, vegan and chicken burgers, but you really want to come out here to enjoy their beef burgers.
I generally order the Geissbock which offers a lovely contrasting taste with the fig jam along with the feta cheese. I am told that the Wilder Westen is pretty good too.
Hans Im Glück offers a set meal – burger, a side of your choice, a cold beverage and a hot beverage for a $5 top up of the burger price. They also offer a package for 2 burgers, 2 cold beverages, 2 hot beverages and a platter of sides which is more than enough for two people.
The Price Point
This part of town attracts a lot of tourists and professionals alike and can be a little pricey. However, I generally spend about $50 for 2 people on a meal that consists of 2 burgers, a side (which is very generous), and two very large glasses of iced water. This is great value for this part of town.
The Final Verdict
Hans Im Glück are definitely one of the best places in Singapore to get your burger craving addressed! They’ve got plenty of outlets around town, and thoroughly professional, well run and maintained and offer a great experience. If you’re in the Boat Quay area, consider the alfresco dining option on a cool Singapore evening while seated above the banks of the river.
