Joy Luck 65 is a small Indian café and restaurant on the 2nd floor of Millennia Walk. You need to know where this is, otherwise you could easily miss it.
They’re a clean, modern looking cafe that serve some very good Indian food. I walked in here as part of my search for the best Dosa in Singapore.
Ambience, Service and the Staff
I’d visited Joy Luck 65 on evening on my own. I was famished at the end of a long day that had been topped off with a decent workout, and wanted some comforting Indian food. I had a particular craving for a Dosa.
The restaurant is clean and well lit. There was a single staff member present – it was the end of their day – and he seated me straightaway, and took my order. The food followed very quickly thereafter.
Having gone in late, I also discovered that they close their kitchen at 7:30pm on a weeknight. I was their last customer for the day and hence why the whole restaurant was empty on the day.
The Food
I’d ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa and a Samosa.
Their Dosa came out hot, crisp and beautifully presented. It was accompanied by some sambhar and two chutneys to boot. The samosa was also freshly made, and served with a tamarind sauce.
On the day, they were not serving any iced water. They only had water at room temperature available.
The Price Point
The modest but delicious meal that I had set me back $11. This is a decent price for humble Indian fare in this locality.
The Final Verdict
The food is served quickly, hot and fresh. The restaurant is clean and well lit and the prices are quite reasonable.
I’m mindful that they close a little earlier on weeknights. Joy Luck 65 is a great place for a meal during the day. I’d recommend it as a great place for a weekend South Indian Brunch.
