In my quest to find the Best Ramen in Singapore, I came across Ramen Nagi at Suntec City. It’s passed me by in the past as it is outside the sheltered area at Towers 1 and 2, but I walk right past it every time I enter or exit the shopping center.
The Ambience, Service and Staff
Ramen Nagi is a noodle bar that pitches itself as a Noodle Creator – proudly displayed on its multiple monochromatic canvas banners that decorate the restaurant. It offers the comforts of a standard, no-frills noodle bar. They’re a popular place, and I have seen long queues form outside even as the weather has turned foul. That is a good testament to the quality of what they serve. Once inside, the staff quickly and efficiently seated us. Their menu offers choices of ramen that are simple to choose from.
The Food
They’re known for their noodles here. On the evening, we went for the Original King and the Red King (which is spicy), and rounded our meal off with a plate of gyoza and a couple of drinks.
Our food came out quickly. The gyozas came out first, in about 5 minutes of placing our orders, and were presented in plate that was simple, yet drew in curiosity of the diner. The ramen followed within minutes and were a welcome comforting meal on what was a cool and rainy evening.
I recommend going for the thin noodles in medium hardness.
The Red King packed plenty of punch was thoroughly fulfilling, The Original King offered the comfort of a hot and evenly flavoured bowl of noodles.
The Price Point
For our meal, we paid just under $50 which is about right for this part of town for this sort of meal.
The Final Verdict
Ramen Nagi offers a nice vibe where one can wind down after a long day at work, with a comforting bowl of ramen while sharing a meal with co-workers, or while dining solo. Since my first visit, I have gone back a few times and will continue to do so when I have a ramen craving and am at Suntec.
