Redpan is a modern Singaporean bistro that has been around since 2016 and have been giving everyday local dishes a modern twist.
The Ambience, Service and Staff
Redpan is in Marina Square. This humble restaurant has a chic interior with wooden curves and a hanging glass feature . They have sturdy tables and chairs that provide comfortable seating. This restaurant is a hidden gem. We’d made a reservation through Chope. Their friendly and efficient staff had our table ready on arrival, had us seated straight away, and provided us with menus. The restaurant flows into the corridors of the mall, giving it a sense of welcoming all diners.
The Food
We were a party of two during our visit.
We ordered the Vada Bao as our starter, followed by the Hae Bi Hiam Pasta and the Rendang Pork Cutlet as our mains.
They’re very quick bringing out the food. The Vada Bao brings together flavours from both India and Singapore with a slight sweetness blended with a gentle spicy kick wrapped in the goodness of an old fashioned bao. The pasta was very well made and had a spicy kick to blend in with the creamy sauce that it was cooked in. The pork cutlet was cooked perfectly – crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rendang sauce was a little spicy and was balanced of perfectly by the rice. Portions were generous without being overwhelming.
The Price Point
Our meal set us back just under $45. This is great value for the location, the ambience, and quantity and quality of food.
The Final Verdict
Redpan is a hidden little gem that offers amazing food and a great environment at a great price. It’s an awesome little bistro great for families, work get-togethers, and catch-ups with friends. Go give them a go. You won’t be disappointed.
