Stamping Ground Coffee is in Singapore’s Eastern Suburbs and is a home grown café with a minimalist interior decor. With a tiny kitchen, that is in full view of customers seated at the bar, you’ll be left wondering how the staff at this little coffee shop brings out some amazing food at very competitive price points.

The Ambience, Service and Staff

While it is a little out of the way from central Singapore, it is worth the trip. There is a small amount of parking in the back and the front of the shop that shares a little strip mall with a few other establishments. I’ve never found this place empty which is testament to the quality of the food that they serve here.

Stamping Ground is always busy, and particularly so on weekends. This is probably due to the fact that their food is so good, and their prices are so reasonable.

Indoor seating is shared – either at the bar, or at a couple of large tables. There are very good odds that you will be sharing a table with complete strangers. Sometimes, this is a great way to meet new people.

You order at the counter, and the staff brings out your food. The staff are friendly, and are constantly on their toes to keep up with demand. They offer a surprisingly decent standard of service.

The Food

Stamping Ground has a fairly small selection on its menu. This may have something to do with the fact that their kitchen is quite small. Nonetheless, what they do serve is consistently high quality.

Among the things that I have tried here are the Hawaiian pulled pork burger, the tuna melt, and the ham and beef pastrami sandwich. All of these items have never failed to hit the spot.

However, it’s their coffee which is truly to write home about.

The Price Point

The food here is well made, with reasonably sized portions. They’re also very competitively priced. Brunch for 2 with coffee is generally about $25.

The Final Verdict
