Supply and Demand is a really cool Italian Trattoria and rooftop bar with three outlets in Singapore. We recently visited the one at Esplanade.
The Ambience, Service and Staff
Continuing to support our F&B establishments as Singapore emerges from Covid-19 restrictions, our party of 5 arrived at Supply and Demand on a Friday evening.
We’d made our reservations via Chope. Supply and Demand have a rooftop bar which I was unaware of when I had booked us in. On the evening, it was fully booked, but we did get a nice, private table in the corner all to ourselves. We were greeted by the friendly and professional staff who swiftly had us seated and provided menus.
Supply and Demand have a modern industrial interior with lots of concrete, offset with wooden paneling and some ferns from their ceiling. Tables against the wall have concrete benches with comfortable cushions.
The Food
We were a party of 5, and started our evening with some garlic truffle fries, a bottle of sauvignon blanc and a coke light with grenadine. The truffle fries came out very quickly – in a mere 5 minutes – and were served with mayonnaise and a spicy tabasco sauce. The sauv blanc was a decent selection, kept cool in an ice pail.
For our mains, we ordered the Seared Beef Pizza, the Al Funghi with Ravioli, the Chorizo Risotto, the Mushroom Risotto, and the Seafood Tagliatelle. Food started coming in about 10 minutes after the starters and drinks.
Portion sizes were generous. The seared beef pizza was a decent 9-inch pizza with 8 slices topped with plenty of greens to complement the meat. The risottos were well-prepared and wholesome. The tagliatelle was a generous portion and well prepared to satisfy one after a long week.
Following our main course, a few of use decided to get dessert. We ordered a Sinfully Chocolate cake, a serving of the Trio of Cheese, and 2 portions of Tiramisu. The Sinfully Chocolate cake was true to its name, yet not too sweet. The trio of cheese was a nice selection of triple cream brie, gorgonzola and cheddar served with olives, apricots and quince preserve. The tiramisu was served in a jar, ample in size, and had a firm texture without too much alcohol.
The Price Point
Our meal for 5 came up to just over $315 which is really good value for the location and the quality of food that we shared..
The Final Verdict
Supply and Demand is a cool, little trattoria that is a perfect to meet friends after a long week at work. It is also a great place to celebrate birthdays and other little life events. They have excellent service, great quality food, and a fantastic location.
