You get some awesome food at some not well known holes in the wall – and for a really good price at that. Come N Joy is one of these such holes in the wall, hidden away in a corner at Millenia Walk.
It’s not to difficult to miss it altogether and might take a little effort to find.
The Ambience, Service and the Staff
Come N Joy has no pretentions about being anything more than a hole in the wall restaurant that will serve great food for a great price. They are exactly that.
The restaurant is air-conditioned behind glass doors, has spartan tables and upholstered benches against the wall, exposed ceilings and whitewashed walls.
The staff will seat you quickly as soon as a table is vacant, and will take your order as soon as you are ready. Food is served very quickly.
The Food
It’s simple, wholesome and served hot. Come N Joy. Their signature dishes are their Korean Fried Chicken which come in Original, Seasoned Chilli, Soy Garlic, and Lemon Cheese. I personally recommend the Original and the Seasoned Chilli. You’ll need gloves to eat this (which the restaurant provides).
Their mains are also very well made. I generally tend to get the Jae Yuk Bogum (spicy pork with rice) or the Bulgogi.
Like all Korean restaurants, they serve a selection of condiments, kimchee and barley water.
The Price Point
Food here is on the cheap side. Mains are about $15, sides are about $10, and the Korean Fried Chicken is $38 for the whole chicken, or $20 for half. It’s a great value, no frills culinary experience.
The Final Verdict
Come N Joy appeals to a wide cross section of customers. Whether you’re a group of students looking to hang out, or a couple of professionals looking for a great, cheap meal, Come N Joy will keep you happy.
If you’re tired, in the area and have a hankering for some good, wholesome, Korean food – this is the place to visit.
