Craftsmen Speciality Coffee at Siglap V

In early 2020, I was in the Siglap area running errands. A hankering for coffee and food came around, and we happened to be walking past Craftsmen Speciality Coffee. Walking in seemed like the logical choice, and one that we came away thoroughly satisfied with.

Ambience, Service and the Staff

This is a neighbourhood café and part of a larger chain (there’s another one out in River Valley as well which I have visited too) which straight up serves great coffee and a hearty breakfast. This place was packed when we walked in, and we got seats near the window. The staff cleared the table very quickly as the previous customers left.

At Craftsmen, you order at the counter, and the very courteous staff bring your food out to you. It really has that sort of a casual atmosphere about it.

There’s wooden and steel furniture that fits into a casual, warm industrial environment. The café also serves its own line of soft drinks.

The Food

We were both hungry and in the mood for a decent breakfast and some coffee. We ordered their Savoury Waffles, and their Eggs Benedict with some coffee.

Their coffee is exceptional. This on its own is a reason for me to keep going back.

The eggs are cooked to perfection in the Eggs Benedict. We ordered the Hollandaise Sauce on the side which is mildly spiced and gives it a characteristic taste of this café. The Savoury Waffles are scrumptious, served with plenty of protein – scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages – that will keep a large hungry man satisfied. Portions are generous.

The Price Point

Our breakfast for 2 was just over $50 which is decent value for a café of this calibre in this neighbourhood.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Whether you’re looking for a light start to the day, a good weekend breakfast or brunch, lunch or dinner, Craftsmen have plenty on offer. They offer a great environment, have really good food and service, and come at a decent price.
