Ippudo has become one of my favourite places to get Ramen. They’re a chain of Japanese restaurants that are all around Singapore. This one at River Valley Road is one that I tend to frequent often.
Ambience, Service and the Staff
Ippudo is located in a large building on Mohamed Sultan Road, opposite some restored shop houses. It is easy to get to.
It’s decor is minimalist Japanese. The seats are comfortable and functional, and there is a bar area for single diners and couples alike that looks straight into the kitchen.
This is a professionally run outfit. The staff are polite, and efficient.
The Food
One comes to Ippudo to eat their Ramen.
They do have other things on offer. I tend to get the Gyoza if I am a bit hungrier than normal, but generally, I tend to go for the Karaka-Men Ramen Special with medium hard noodles and spiciness set to level 3 out of 4.
The Price Point
The Karaka-Men Special is $27.05 including taxes, and keeps a full grown hungry adult male well fed and satisfied. For the quality of the Ramen, this is decent value (though perhaps just a tiny bit on the expensive side).
I have visited Ippudo with company and have spent about $50 to $60 for a meal for two at dinner. This is quite reasonable.
The Final Verdict
Ippudo is all over Singapore and is a great place to get your ramen fix. This is a great place to dine alone, meet up with friends, or take your significant other to after a long week at work for some comfort food. It remains one of my go-to restaurants.
