Memo is a café on Nanson Road in the general vicinity of River Valley Road. It is part of the Studio M Hotel, and is open to the public. I had wandered in one night, when I was in the general area and looking for a quick meal
The Ambience, Service and the Staff
The café is chic and minimalist. They have a selection of cakes in a display case at the front, and serve a range of coffee. They also serve main meals. Their menu isn’t huge, but it offers something for customers of all tastes.
Orders are placed in the front.
The staff are very polite, seating me immediately. The café was mostly empty at 7:30pm when I walked in, with a small group of people sitting outdoors, and two other gentlemen sitting indoors.
The Food
I ordered the Aromatic Twice Cooked Pork Belly.
Food came out in about 10 minutes. The portion size was generous without being overwhelming.
The pork belly had been beautifully cooked There wasn’t too much fat on it, and it had been cooked to a consistency where the meat just fell off as you picked at it with your fork.
The Price Point
Food and a drink for 1 person cost just over $20. DBS card holders get 10% off. This is good value for a meal in this general area.
The Final Verdict
Memo is a clean, no frills café that offers a service to it’s hotel guests. It offers a quiet place to share a meal with friends and is a great place to catch a quick bitel
