Platform 1094 is a themed café that will let you have that experience. Right on Serangoon Road, this little café takes a twist on platform nine-and-three-quarters and uses its address (It’s 1094 Serangoon Road).
Ambience, Service and the Staff
The Ambience of this café is something that stands out. The exposed brick wall is decorated with a graphic. The mugs in which water is served are in the form of brass mugs from Hogwarts.
This restaurant is a favourite among children. Expect to see families dining here.
The Food
Once again, theme cafés have a notorious reputation for having average food. This is where Platform 1094 sets itself apart. The food here is very good! The portions are generous and service is fast.
Some of the drinks are meant predominantly for entertainment and are an acquired taste.
The Price Point
Being a theme café, you’d expect prices to be a bit higher. In reality, not so. The prices charged here are quite standard. I’ve had dinner here where the bill for a party of 2 was around $50.
The Final Verdict
Platform 1094 is a novelty café. Some of their drinks are really for the visual experience and not so much for the taste. With that said, the food is of a consistently high standard. This is a great place for birthday parties, theme parties and work functions. I have been back more than once, and it is a place that I like to take friends to when I need to shake things up.
