Privé at the Asian Civilisations Museum

Privé at the Asian Civilsations Museum is yet another branch of Privé that I have visited.

It’s closer than you think, particularly if you happen to work in the downtown area of Singapore. While you may be tempted to take a cab to get there, you don’t need to. I’d met a friend for lunch there after walking from the Downtown MRT via the underpasses. The whole trip took me about 12 minutes on foot one way.

All you need to do is get into the Raffles Place MRT underground passages and take Exit H, walk towards the Fullerton Hotel, cross Cavenagh Bridge and walk straight into the Asian Civilisations Museum.

Privé is tucked away past the main entrance to the left.

The Ambience, Service and the Staff

This branch of Privé offers both alfresco and indoor dining, and has lots of natural light. I’d made a booking through Chope and the staff had my table ready.

The Food

Privé offers some really good value lunch specials which my friend took advantage of. The starter of a wood roasted carrot and lentil soup followed by “The Italian Job” – a vegetarian salad – offered something that was both tasty and not overwhelming for lunch.

The more substantial traditional Singapore Chicken Curry offered the comforting familiarity of rice with a wholesome everyday staple of tenderly cooked chicken in spices with waxy potatoes.

The Price Point

For 2 people, this amounted to just over $40. We didn’t order drinks – just water.

The Final Verdict

Rating: 4 out of 5.

If you’re looking for a relaxed and chic place for lunch, or a good place to meet up after work for a meal… Privé at the Asian Civilisations Museum is definitely worth a visit!
