Veera’s Cafe

This establishment is no longer in operation.

I’ve been on the hunt for Singapore’s best Dosa. Veera’s Café at Food Republic at Suntec City has come up on my radar.

Ambience, Service and the Staff

Veera’s Café is in the basement of Suntec City in the food court of Food Republic. It is tucked away in the back and offers an array of Indian Vegetarian Food.

This is in a well maintained food court, and there are no frills. You find a table, order your food and eat at your own place. Once you’re done, you put your tray away and go about your day.

The Food

Veera’s Café is part of a larger chain. Their offerings are Indian Vegetarian, and a lot of their offerings including the samosas and the vadai are pre-made and on display in the glass casing. Their dosas are freshly made.

I have a thing for Mysore Masala Dosas, which have a texture that sets them apart from the plain and masala dosas.

Like any self respecting establishment that serves dosas, Veera’s will make your dosas fresh right in front of you in under 10 minutes (generally under 5).

They’re served hot and fresh with an assortment of 4 different sambhar choices, and make for very satisfying South Indian meal.

These are best enjoyed with a cup of masala chai.

The Price Point

The Mysore Masala Dosa on its own is $5.50. When ordered with a cup of Masala Chai, this meal with sey you back a grand total of $8.00! That’s cheap eats with great taste!

The Final Verdict

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Veera’s offers a clean, no frills, culinary experience that is authentically Singaporean from its Indian community. It’s a great place to grab a meal on the go, or catch up with friends over a great value meal at lunch, after a workout, or after a long day.

Address: B1-115 to 120, Suntec City, 3 Temasek Blvd, 038983.
