Yardbird Southern Table and Bar is one of several signature restaurants in Singapore’s world famous Marina Bay Sands integrated resort. It is a taste of southwestern American fare with some chic thrown in for good measure and is a great place to meet friends after a long week, or to go out with your significant other for a night out.
Ambience, Service and the Staff
Like all major restaurants at Marina Bay Sands, Yardbird is thoroughly professionally and efficiently run.
Chope does offer online reservations. However, I had made a last minute reservation, and no slots were available on Chope. I ended up calling the restaurant and was conveniently attended to.
Upon our arrival, we were swiftly seated. At the time of booking, I was told that there were only high tables and high chairs available. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated at a regular table with comfortable, plush chairs.
The restaurant is immaculately maintained, and beautifully decorated.
We were seated near the corridors of Marina Bay Sands, and it was common for us to have passersby walk past us regularly. However, at no time did we ever feel that our personal space was being encroached.
The staff at Yardbird are helpful, courteous and attentive.
Yardbird also has a very well stocked bar, and even if you don’t drink, you will find the bar somewhat of a pleasant curiosity.
The Food
Yardbird seems to follow the concept of less is more. Their menu is fairly simple with a limited number choices, thereby making a selection easy.
I am of the opinion that when a restaurant offers that few items, then it has to do them well.
We went with an order of seared barramundi, and a burger that was medium well done. We also ordered a cocktail.
Food was served in under 15 minutes and was beautifully presented.
The Price Point
Yardbird is an upmarket restaurant. Our bill for 2 mains and one cocktail came up to just under $110. However, if you’re a Sands Rewards Member, they will take 15% off the bill. Our meal for the night for 2 adults with a drink came in at just under $90.
The Final Verdict
Yardbird offers that happy medium between casual dining and an upmarket restaurant. The food is great, the ambience is relaxed, and their staff are attentive. It offers a great place to meet up with friends, to celebrate life’s milestones, and to share a night out with a loved on.
I’d definitely recommend going back.
